The name's Steele....Remington Steele

Before Pierce Brosnan was James Bond he was Remington Steele. Enough Said. You must watch this show.

How can you resist a man that dresses to the T, has an accent, stops the bad guys, KNOWS old movies like the back of his hand, and is one of the most charming, good-looking men of all history? Wo. I don't think you can. No one can do it like Remington.

Not to mention Laura Holt. The woman who can run in heels like there's no tomorrow. The woman who can remember everything to the last detail. And also has captured the heart of her mysterious boss. Lucky woman.

Let's just say Erika and Audrey have been hit. By the "Steele" blue eyes of a mysterious man.

Ann Marie is....THAT GIRL!

Okay. That Girl. My favorite t.v. show of all time.

That Girl is a t.v. series from the late 1960s. I was first introduced to That Girl when I was fifteen. My Grandma Bunker gave all my girl cousins the first season for Christmas. From the very first pilot episode my mom and I loved it. We had to limit how much we could watch in one day, so that we would not watch all of season one in one day. Immediately after watching the first couple of episodes in season one we ordered season two. We eventually bought all five seasons. It is absolutely my favorite show. I would definitely recommend it.

So just so you know what this show is all about I will now give you some basic information about the series.......
That Girl stars Marlo Thomas as Ann Marie. Ann Marie has recently left her home in Brewster, New York and traveled to the big city where she struggles to become an actress. Shortly after arriving in New York city she meets Newsview Magazine writer Donald Hollinger, played by Ted Bessel, who becomes her steady boyfriend throughout the series. With her boyfriend and overprotective father close by That Girl follows the funny, sticky situations that Ann Marie always seems to find herself in.

So there you have it folks. A quick little synopsis of That Girl. It's definitely worth seeing!

If A Man Answers.....Hang Up!!!

Audrey here: (Erika needs to get on!)

Once again. The light has shone brightly down on me.

In need of a carefree, funny, witty, romantic, kinda cheesy movie? Yep. This is the one. If A Man Answers. And it's easily on my top favorites. I loved it so much on Youtube (the place I discover lots of old movies), that I bought it on ebay so I could watch it over and over again without waiting for it to LOAD!! Go figure.

This movie stars Bobby Darin and Sandra Dee, two of my favorite people. Technically, this isn't a 1940's movie....more like..1962.....haha. But..same difference right?

Synposis:

Chantel worries about her new marriage to photographer Eugene failing so she decides to take her mother's advice and manipulate him. First, her mother gives her a book that will solve all her problems about how to treat a husband - namely a book on how to train dogs. Then, her mother gives her a second trick, an imaginary boyfriend who used to come in handy during her own marriage to Chantel's father. However, if Chantel's mother made this man up, what is she going to do when Eugene brings him home for dinner one night?

Life I said, I own it. So if anyone is interested, give me a ring.

It's a Charade!....Or....is it??

Okay, okay.

Charade.

Cary Grant.

Audrey Hepburn.

What could be better? Nothing. That's what.

This movie has the perfect blend of suspense, thrill, romance, humor, etc. etc. Me and Erika were literally clutching each other during the movie.

Seriously.

Here is a synopsis for you:

Regina Lambert returns to Paris from a ski holiday in Switzerland to find that her husband has been murdered. She is later told by CIA agent Hamilton Bartholemew that Charles Lambert was one of five men who stole $250,000 in gold from the U.S. government during World War II, and the government wants it back. The money was not found among his possessions, and Regina can shed no light on its whereabouts. Later that day she is visited by Peter Joshua, whom she had met briefly while on holiday. When her husband's former partners in crime, who were double-crossed by Charles, start calling her looking for the money, Peter offers to help find it. Thus begins an elaborate charade in which nothing is what it seems to be.

It's a beautiful movie. If anyone is interested in it, I own it. Lending is acceptable.

It all started with "It Started With Eve"

The movie that started it all.

And the WOMAN that started it all.

The lovely Miss Durbin
We would like to now introduce it. I, Audrey, will turn the time over to Erika. "Ahem....Erika.."

I must admit. I was very hesitant to watch this movie at first. It was introduced to me by my kinda molly mormon sister-in-law Becca. So naturally when she said she knew a great movie entitled "It Started with Eve" my first instinct was "Oh no! I am not watching a movie about Adam and Eve." However I quickly found out that this was definitely not a mormon movie. To make a long story short it is now my absolute favorite movie of all time. It was the spark in my passion for Deanna Durbin movies and eventually all other old movies. I would also say it was one of the main sparks for my Bestie friendship with Audge. I'll let her tell that story though. Back to you Audge.

Thanks Erika.

Okay. So the first time that I watched this movie with Erika, it was, well........due to.........A.D.D.? Yeah. Erika, I and our friend Whitney Robinson were all attempting to study for our AP Calculus test....and...Erika mentioned that she had seen this really funny old movie, and that we should watch it...instead of doing homework. So......we gladly agreed. Piled on top of her bed, we watched the black and white movie on her little silver TV in her room.
And let's just say.......our friendship was never the same again. That moment in time changed us. And from that point on, we were in love with Deanna Durbin.......and little old, crouched over man (see picture). Oh, and Robert Cummings....(who, is a link on the side, take a look). What a man. What a MOVIE.

We would also like to say that we can quote the ENTIRE movie. And that's not a joke.

So, because you are all probably wondering what great movie these girls are talking about, we would like to formally describe the movie to you. Or...at least copy and paste into here.  Here ya go.

A young man asks a hat check girl to pose as his fiancée in order to make his dying father's last moments happy. However, the old man's health takes a turn for the better and now his son doesn't know how to break the news that he's engaged to someone else, especially since his father is so taken with the impostor.
And THAT, is how it all started.

Be prepared for much more to come. :)

Welcome!

Well, here we have it folks. I've made a blog fully dedicated to old things--movies, actors, music.

The owners of this blog are myself and Erika Bunker.

This is one of our passions. PASSIONS.

We decided it was time to let the world know our love for the classics. We live for this stuff. We live for those romantic old movies. We live for the funny lines that somehow people miss. We LIVE FOR THIS.

We wish constantly that we had been born back then. We would do ANYTHING.
But alas, we can only enjoy what we have left. And we do a pretty good job too. ;)

So we hope that you can enjoy some of this greatness with us.
