Their first film, Manhattan Melodrama, was the first to portray their amazing chemistry. It started a 13 year era of film making together. From The Great Ziegfeld to Love Crazy to their famed Thin Man series, these two never failed to entertain.

Loy's profile was the most requested in the 1930's by women to their plastic surgeons.
In 1938, Powell was diagnosed with cancer of the rectum. Rather than
undergo a colostomy, he agreed to an experimental treatment where
platinum needles containing radium pellets were inserted into Powell's
body, where they remained for six months, by which time his cancer had
gone into remission. It was many years before he publicly revealed he
had had cancer. At the time of his illness and recovery, his agent
explained his absence to the press first by saying he was recuperating
from an eye injury, and later that he had undergone a routine abdominal

In 1937, Myrna had a narrow escape when her horse bolted during the filming of The Rains Came (1939) with Tyrone Power; she was nearly killed.Myrna was a favorite of Franklin Delano Roosevelt, Winston Churchill, and Jimmy Stewart.
Outspoken against Adolf Hitler in the War, Myrna appeared on his blacklist.
