It really was....An Affair to Remember

Content sigh......

This is Cary Grant at his ultimate best. Along with the beautiful and talented Deborah Kerr

That in itself should entice you to watch this wonderful movie.

We find Nickie Ferrante (Grant), an eligible bachelor that the rest of the world watches as he finally decides to settle down with a very rich woman. But on the boat trip back from Europe to New York, he meets Terry Mckay (Kerr)--who incidentally is ALSO engaged---and without knowing what's happened to them, they fall in love. They have some precious moments together that will make you cry, laugh, or smile contentedly. Grant never ceases to be his charming and smooth self. The story follows the hardships and trials they have to go through in order to be together. It is a story that will give you ever range of emotion, and leave you feeling good inside.

My (Audrey) favorite time to watch this movie is Valentine's Day. Ever since I was young, my family would watch it. It's just a wonderful movie that can please those of us who are still searching for our significant other. I introduced Erika to this movie last Valentine's Day, and let's just say she was converted. :) It's one that both husband AND wife can enjoy. Good humor, tender moments, just enough romance, and heart jerking moments.

I give my FULL petition to you to watch this movie. It isn't known as one of the best romance movies of all time for no reason. :)

P.S. I'm not going to give a full summary, because I can't find one that won't give away things that you shouldn't know before you watch it. So...just go watch the movie.

For the Love of Mary

Another Deanna Durbin classic. If you are looking for a great chick flick, look no further. For The Love of Mary is pack full with Romance.

There's not only one attractive man. There's three. I guarantee you will quickly pick a favorite and cheer him on throughout the whole movie. When I watched this movie with Audge and Whit for the first time we were all cheering for the charismatic David Paxton. You will fall in love with the movie. I guarantee.

It's not only all romance. As the storyline becomes more and more complicated it also becomes more comedic. It also has many great musical scenes including Deanna's stunning performing of Largo Al Factotum from The Barber of Seville.

So now that you know a little bit about it here's an official synopsis.....
Durbin plays a switchboard operator at the White House, whose hiccuping spells throw several incoming special-interest callers into a tizzy. The President himself cures Durbin of her hiccups, thereby becoming entangled with the girl's various romances. She, in turn, finds herself neck-deep in numerous political intrigues
